چکیده

We apply the theoretical results of Part I to linear multivariate problems LMP equipped with the folded Wiener sheet measure. We are particularly interested in multivariate weighted integration and multivariate function approximation. We prove that any LMP which satisses (A.1) of Part I is tractable and its exponent is at most 2. We show that optimal or nearly optimal sample points can be derived from hyperbolic cross points, and exhibit nearly optimal algorithms. In particular, we nd the order of the average case complexity of multivariate function approximation in std .

A Survey of Average Case Complexity for Linear Multivariate Problems*

We survey recent results on the average case complexity for linear multivariate problems. Our emphasis is on problems defined on spaces of functions of d variables with large d. We present the sharp order of the average case complexity for a number of linear multivariate problems as well as necessary and sufficient conditions for the average case complexity not to be exponential in d. Phase II monitoring of multivariate simple linear profiles with estimated parameters

In some applications of statistical process monitoring, a quality characteristic can be characterized by linear regression relationships between several response variables and one explanatory variable, which is referred to as a “multivariate simple linear profile.” It is usually assumed that the process parameters are known in Phase II. However, in most applications, this assumption is viola...

Phase II monitoring of auto-correlated linear profiles using linear mixed model

In many circumstances, the quality of a process or product is best characterized by a given mathematical function between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables that is typically referred to as profile. There are some investigations to monitor auto-correlated linear and nonlinear profiles in recent years. In the present paper, we use the linear mixed models to account autocor...

Monitoring Multinomial Logit Profiles via Log-Linear Models (Quality Engineering Conference Paper)

In certain statistical process control applications, quality of a process or product can be characterized by a function commonly referred to as profile. Some of the potential applications of profile monitoring are cases where quality characteristic of interest is modelled using binary, multinomial or ordinal variables. In this paper, profiles with multinomial response are studied. For this purpo...

Models for Minimax Stochastic Linear Optimization Problems with Risk Aversion

We propose a semidefinite optimization (SDP) model for the class of minimax two-stage stochastic linear optimization problems with risk aversion. The distribution of second-stage random variables belongs to a set of multivariate distributions with known first and second moments. For the minimax stochastic problem with random objective, we provide a tight SDP formulation. The problem with random...
